Picea abies 'Tompa'

Tompa Dwarf Norway Spruce.  An attractive little spruce with bright green new foliage in the spring, aging to dark green in summer.  Tiny needles, little round buds, and tan slender stems are pefectly size for miniature gardens and landscapes.  Has a rounded shape now and develops a wide, conical shape with age.   Slow growing and valued for its year round presence and form.  Nice as a foundation shrub for a fairy garden house or structure.  Perfect for trough gardens, railroad gardens, and miniature gardens (especially those with a formal design or woodland theme).  Prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soil.  Cold hardy to zone 3.  Plants are growing in 3.5"h x 4"diameter pots.
