Euonymus japonica 'Microphyllus Variegatus'
Our favorite little "tree" for miniature gardens and landscapes. Please note: current crop is young, just 1-3" tall. With time and age, provides the all important height and structure necessary for realistic miniature garden scenes. Plants can be pruned into a tree shape (called "standard") to reveal the light brown woody stem or "trunk". Leaves are about 1/2 - 1" long with thick substance, glossy texture, and bright white variegation edging the dark green leaves. Trim, with scissors, as needed to maintain the round tree shape. For a longer trunk and higher canopy, remove the lower branches as the plant grows taller. An easy to grow plant in sun or bright shade, indoors and outside, in containers or planted in the ground. Tolerant of most soils, but prefers to be kept evenly moist. Water at the base of the plant for the first two weeks, until it has a chance to root out into the surrounding soil. A fabulous little plant and a gem for miniature gardens, fairy gardens, little landscapes and railroad gardens.
